Governor Kay Ivey, in collaboration with Alabama legislation, laid the ground work for the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship (AOA). AOA is a progressive new program under the Department of Commerce Workforce Development Division. AOA is designed to help create a talent pipeline for employers while creating a viable workplace path for Alabama citizens.
Grounded in learning principles, the two-prong training program takes a blended approach that consists of in-class and on-the-job-training, with participants receiving a nationally recognized certificate upon successful completion of the program.
As part of our mission, AOA will assist employers in developing a quality workforce while expanding opportunities for Alabama’s high school students to participate in a registered youth apprenticeship program
